Call

Call for Action – March 11, 2012 1PM

Join our protest against nuclear power.

It has been almost a year since the earthquake and tsunami that triggered the Fukushima nuclear accident.

Despite the “it’s safe” campaign played by the Japanese government, the crippled Fukushima Daiichi is far from the state of ‘stabilization’.

Ignoring the growing nation-wide anti-nuke resistance, the Noda Administration publicly states their will to restart nuclear reactors that are in test period. On top of it, Japan is eager to export nuclear technology overseas. It is a shameful behavior as a country where many people are still suffering the after effects of the nuclear disaster. Theradioactive substances, all which are the property of TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Co.), are spreading in the wider areas. Radiation equally contaminates the land, water, air and all living things.

There are many who cannot evacuate. Radiation certainly is getting inside the bodies of those in Japan. Many forms of labor- especially reproductive care work is burdening a great damage, while many children continue to live in highly contaminated area, banned to play outdoors. Families and communities are torn apart, and today many fissures are created in Japanese society. Such fissures are no longer contained only within the archipelago.

On the first anniversary we will stand up from our loss and will fight to prevent further losses. Let us demand Japanese government that they take responsibility.  Let us send alert to the US nuclear industry (the biggest of the global nuclear regime). Let us all walk in the streets of New York to end the nuclear energy!

We stand in solidarity with the growing anti-nuclear movements in Japan, as well as all the people who are living under the threats of nuclear plants, uranium mining, nuclear waste dumps, and military industrial complexes. We stand with the women in Japan who continue their autonomous struggles while living under the threats of
radiation.

We say no to all the forms of control over our lives.

We are pregnant with fear of radiation.

Let us liberate our bodies from the control of nuclear energy!
